Talent's Desperation Is Starting To Show
Senator Jim Talent's desperation is really starting to show. Today, I heard a radio spot from his campaign that includes every GOP hot button they could think of to put into a single attack ad. They throw everything but the kitchen sink at Claire.
It includes everything from drilling in Alaska, to gay marriage to ethanol, to immigration. And it mischaracterizes Claire's position on nearly every issue they raise.
It is possibly the single most dishonest campaign spot that I have ever heard, and I have heard some real dandies in my life.
But then again, what can you expect from Jim Talent. He's just doing whatever the Bush and RNC political teams tell him that he needs to do to win. He doesn't care if he has to lie, cheat or steal to do it. The only thing that matters to him is that he retains his hold on power.
Sadly, this is just the type of corruption you have to expect from a politician like Talent who has spent far too much time in Washington, D.C. Missouri values like honesty, fairness and decency are foreign to him at this point.

Have you seen the latest Ad for JT showing and describing him as a Statesman?
Now that is using the term recklessly and pretty wild. This man wouldn't as the old saying goes "Make a pimple on a Statesman's A..(hindend).

of the fired up button on the left hand side of the page. See the 'union bug' at the bottom of it? I'll bet the t-shirts are union printed too. My fired up bumpsticker is.
But it works!
It does -- get the base mobilized, lie/cheat/steal and whatever else it takes to get elected. Worry about moral behavior later once you're standing behind your bully pulpit. Doesn't have to be fair, right, accurate, or anything else -- just has to be OUT THERE! And if you think about, this is only the beginning, it's going to get worse.

That spot is pathetic. ...And, as you've indicated, plays to every fear that conservatives have. I guess if they can't scare the rural folks suggesting terrorist may be creeping around their rural hamlets, why not bring back the fear of gays and flag burners moving to the country.
It was just a matter of time before this crap started.
