In a rather classy move today, Matt Blunt announced that he would appoint Susan Montee [1] to start the Auditor's job early, as Claire McCaskill is required to resign in order to be sworn in to the Senate on Thursday. Montee officially gets sworn in next week, and Blunt could have left the office vacant or setup a friend to make a few quick bucks for the week.
