Will Baptist Sprinkling and Paid Advertising Save Blunt from Angry GOP Base?
Matt Blunt is on the defensive (again) with the anti-choice base of his own party.
In a last ditich effort to avoid a primary challenge from the right, Blunt has resorted to deperate tactics. In the last several days, Blunt has:
- Staged an anti-choice bill signing in a Baptist church
- Distributed defensive canned quotes of praise for his anti-choice record
- Tried to distract the GOP base by running attack ads against Jay Nixon
But it is unclear if the flurry of activity will make the GOP base forget about Blunt's running war of words with Missouri Right to Life (he once called them "bizarre") or memorable condemnations of Blunt by the Baptist Pathway (including that he was heading for "political Armageddon").
I'm guessing the GOP base will only be satisfied seeing Blunt fully immersed in #&%@!.

Silly Patriot
Baptist's don't sprinkle. Sprinkling is for Catholics and Methodists. According to the Baptists, it takes a full immersion to get the job done right!
