I listened to Sarah Palin’s breathless Farewell Address set off by tweeting birds and cooing babies. I wish the speech had been set off by commas; I was exhausted by the pace.

Inoculation: Panic Buttons Prove Their Worth After Raccoon Intrudes on First Family

Matt Blunt must have been deeply satisfied today as he announced the capture of a racoon at the Governor's Mansion.

His decision to install panic buttons in the Executive Mansion was looking smarter than ever.

From this day forward, Democrats would have to think twice before criticizing him  for installing the panic buttons while stripping 100,000 vulnerable Missourians of their health care safety net.

A satisfying day indeed.

Better a racoon than the usual occupants

I would personally prefer a racoon to take up residence in the Governor's Mansion. It is better than the rat that occasionally stays there.

Hmmm. If someone was LIVING in the mansion....

...maybe the raccoon would have been noticed making noise on the roof BEFORE he set up camp on the roof?  I especially enjoyed our Governor making the announcement personally, as if he would have noticed it himself....

Mattys coon

When you don't have anything to talk about in the way of accomplishments, even a coon on the roof sounds good. I'm sure someone had to get the books from the Conservation Commission and look up the animal to ascertain just what it was.
