Missourians Pay More for Higher Education
The Southeast Missourian Newspaper points out that tuition
costs in the state of Missouri are higher than the national average. This is not surprising considering that Rod
Jetton and Jason Crowell in Southeast Missouri have worked against their own
local university. The republicans have
encouraged and fueled the feud between Southeast Missouri State University and
Three Rivers Community College. This has
resulted in higher tuition on the part of the community college and was an
attempt to delay progress at Southeast Missouri State University.
It is time Missouri had elected officials who view colleges
as a way to educate people, create opportunities, and generate economic growth
instead of viewing colleges as patronage tools to reward their cronies at
taxpayer expense.
