What a slipshod affair it’s been between “Sparky” Sanford and his Argentine “soul mate.” This week the plot thickened in a chintzy Appalachian soap opera.

In No Time, Republicans Will Be Begging Sloca to Come Back

Here's an excerpt from an inscrutable release written by new MOGOP flack Tina Hervey:

“I believe that if a tree falls in the forest with nobody around it
does make a sound.  I also
know that Democrats fighting tooth and nail to prevent good laws from
being enacted and enforced would help us insure the integrity of our
elections."

Now from English to French, then back to English again using Babelfish:

"I believe that if a tree fall into the forest with anybody around him
makes a noise. I also know that the democrats combatant the tooth and
the nail to prevent good laws from being issued and imposed would help
us to assure the integrity of our elections."

Which one is better?  Seems like a toss up.
