Earlier this week, Matt Blunt issued one of the most important press releases of his administration.
It warned motorists about the dangers of seeking shelter in automobiles during tornadoes. [1] The news release followed the death of an entire family in their car during Saturday's storms in southwest Missouri.
Without doubt, this was information every Missourian needed to know--- the kind of dispatch they expect and deserve from their Governor and government.
But it's the kind of information that's getting harder and harder for Matt Blunt to effectively communicate.
With increasing frequency, Matt Blunt has reduced the communications shop in the Governor's Office to cutting and pasting GOP hate speak onto gubernatorial stationary.
In the last two weeks, Blunt has attacked Jay Nixon [2], Jay Nixon [3], Jay Nixon [4], Jay Nixon [5], Jeff Harris [6], Jeff Harris [7] and Jay Nixon [8].
And the press has started to ridicule him for his partisan official rants. [9]
And as he loses their respect and attention, he losses the ability to communicate things that matter.
Just like the boy that cried wolf [10].
