Priorities of the Blunt/Kinder axis
The Blunt/Kinder axis decided to use The Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority (MOHELA) as a political tool rather than allow the organization to serve the public interest by opening the doors of higher education. Now, MOHELA will have to cut several critical student benefit programs. The damage to MOHELA was not even the result of a tax cut or spending cut but the result of gross mismanagement of the program by the Blunt/Kinder axis. Higher Education in Missouri suffers for republican political expediency.
In other news, a republican bill has been passed to eliminate contribution limits in order to put more money directly into the hands of politicians. Putting these two events together a clear picture can be developed of the priorities the Blunt/Kinder axis holds dear. The Blunt/Kinder priorities are ‘less opportunity for students seeking an education and more money for politicians.’
In November, please elect Jay Nixon and Sam Page as the next Governor and Lieutenant Governor so we can enjoy a state government focused on public service.
