The Foundation Director position can be based in St. Louis, Chicago, or Kansas City.

The Foundation Director is responsible for researching, soliciting, cultivating, and stewarding foundations within the 11-state Midwest Affiliate.

Major Responsibilities:

    * Develop list of prospects and plan for timeline in securing foundation support
    * Ensure proper follow up and maintain long term relationships with foundations
    * Ensures that divisions and activities function within the parameters of American Heart Association and Midwest Affiliate policy

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must:

    * Have a Bachelor’s Degree in health science, marketing, sales, communications, business or related field is preferred or equivalent work experience
    * Have 5 years proven successful fundraising experience with concentration in grant writing and foundation or federal government solicitation
    * Have excellent communication skills
    * Be able & willing to travel as needed
    * Have reliable transportation & maintain valid driver license
    * Be able to pass DMV, criminal, and credit checks
