Probably a dumb question.

But why are we selling old and presumably faulty slate tiles from the the governor's mansion roof on E-bay?  Why would anyone buy a single slate tile for $55 plus?  And who are the people silly enough to have placed bids on them? 

Second thing, why would the highway department have someone on a truck mounted with a water canon shooting green stuff (paint?) on the ground in between the existing lane of traffic and the not quite completed new lane of traffic they're building on highway 65 north of Springfield in the vicinity of the bridge over the Little Sac River and county roads C and AA today?  Surely they weren't just painting the ground green, were they?
