Bristol Palin's Pregnancy

The GOP is trying to make this pregnancy an issue of the family staying strong during a trying time and that Bristol's privacy should be preserved. It seems to me that the press (and maybe the Democrats) are missing the true importance of this story and it has nothing to do with the pregnancy per se.
It is the fact that the McCain campaign and Gov. Palin hid Bristol's condition from the public. As Palin was introduced on Friday we heard all about her children. We know her eldest is on his way to Iraq. That her youngest has Down's Syndrome. But, somehow, they "forgot" to mention that their 17-year-old daughter was pregnant and planning to marry the father.
If the physical condition of their infant is important to talk about, the physical condition of their oldest daughter is important to talk about. By not mentioning it, they acknowledge they saw it as a political problem and by waiting until three days after her selection and releasing the information only to rebut Web rumors proves that the campaign and Palin wanted to keep the entire issue secret, at least until after the election.
This leaves the McCain campaign open to question as what else they are hiding from us. Is there something about his recent "mole" we don't know? Is there something about Cindy's finances we don't know?
This is where the press and the Democrats should focus since the issue isn't teenage pregnancy, but dishonesty.
