Youth In Need is a leading non-profit child and family services agency, headquartered in St. Charles, Mo. Through a variety of crisis prevention and intervention programs, Youth In Need is dedicated to building positive futures for the community’s most vulnerable children, teens and families.

Each year, Youth In Need serves more than 10,000 children, teens and families with residential homes, foster care case management, homeless outreach, counseling and support groups, education and infant, child and family development at more than 25 sites, spanning 100-miles, in six counties in eastern Missouri.

Youth In Need was founded by community volunteers, who opened the organization’s Emergency Shelter in 1974.   Youth In Need’s reputation for excellence along with the incredible dedication and professionalism of its staff has led to the success and effectiveness of its programs.  The organization practices evidence-based programs, based on solid research and proven, effective approaches.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of Development & Marketing is an executive management  position, reporting to the CEO.  This position is responsible for design and implementation of a comprehensive development and marketing program to successfully engage individuals, corporations, foundations, staff and the community at large with Youth In Need’s mission.   

The Vice President of Development & Marketing is responsible for management of grants, the annual fund program, volunteers, marketing, major gift cultivation and solicitation and enhancing our endowment program through the supervision of six professional level staff.  In addition, this position builds and maintains board member relationships and actively involves these key stakeholders in fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities

    *
      Design, implement and oversee annual fundraising activities.
    *
      Oversee 2 major fundraising events (Dinner/Auction & Golf Tournament).
    *
      In conjunction with the CEO, identify, cultivate and solicit gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations.
    *
      Provide leadership for innovative grants research and requests.
    *
      Develop and implement long range, strategic plan to enhance major gifts and build the endowment fund.
    *
      Engage board members and staff in identifying unique individual opportunities to impact fundraising.
    *
      Collaborate with Board Development Committee on all aspects of fundraising.
    *
      Coordinate with management and staff to identify needs within programs and work with Development staff to proactively address needs which provide expenditure relief.
    *
      Create marketing plan to meet fundraising needs and capitalize on community awareness opportunities.
    *
      Lead and supervise the regions Safe Place efforts through Project Safe Place.

      Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Preferred) in relevant area of study.  CFRE Certification preferred.
