I'm sure Arkansas wouldn't mind
It seems to be lost on some GOP legislators that "sending the stimulus money back" actually means sending the money to other states. We've heard again and again this week that some are honestly suggesting that Missouri reject the hundreds of millions of dollars on their way.
House Speaker Ron Richard, R-Joplin, suggested Missouri reject any federal bailout money and "just send it on back" to Washington.
"We could do that," Richard told about 225 Republicans at the annual [Lincoln Day] event at the University Plaza Hotel.
Rep. Jim Viebrock of the #134th District is asking constituents in his weekly newsletter if Missouri lawmakers should send the [economic recovery] money back.
This is lunacy. Congress has appropriated the money, and the money is going to be spent-- whether it's in Missouri or Arkansas or New York or wherever.
