With a straight face, Roy Blunt calls for a federal spending freeze

Another day, another hypocritical pronouncement from Roy Blunt (R-K Street). Now that he's no longer in a position to do much about it, Blunt thinks that there should be a freeze on federal spending.
Of course, when Blunt was running the House with Tom Delay and Dennis Hastert, federal spending grew at its highest rate in more than 50 years. And even after excluding appropriations for defense and homeland security, the spending of George W. Bush and Congressional Republicans outpaced the increases of the previous 30 years.
Serious question: Are there any issues left on which Roy Blunt is still a credible voice?
