Speaker Richard still searching for a compelling explanation...

Yesterday, FOX2 ran a really interesting piece on Reps. Jeanette Mott Oxford (D-St. Louis) and Mike Colona (D-St. Louis), comparing their experiences in the state legislature to the story of Harvey Milk, the subject of the recent Oscar Award-winning movie.

As many readers know, Speaker Ron Richard refused to reappoint Rep. Oxford to the House Children and Families committee earlier this month, even though she has years of relevant professional experience and was the only returning member who wanted to be on the committee. Why? Because other unnamed members of the committee found her "offensive."
