Susan Phillips and Jane Cunningham Bar Abortion for Incest victims

I heard Rep. Susan Phillips http://www.house.mo.gov/bills051/member/mem032.htm  on the radio today talking about Jane Cunningham's http://www.house.state.mo.us/bills051/member/mem086.htm bill to prohibit in any way assisting a minor in obtaining an abortion without parental consent.  (Interestingly, although they are all for tort reform, they want damages for this type of thing.)

Susan's argument was that a parent should know about any medical procedure that your child is having and could significantly impact the rest of their lives.  But of course the bill does not say that.  What about assisting a child to give birth without the parents consent?  Delivery of a child is a medical act that will definately change your life.  What about plastic surgery?  What about getting a tattoo?

I certainly understand that some people oppose abortion, but they should be honest about what they are doing.  For example, the bill prohibits anyone from assisting or counseling a minor to get an abortion without a parents consent -- period.  But Susan and Jane have a heart, although its still illegal to help such a child (and they can get an injunction against you for doing it) a father who raped his daughter at least can't get monetary damages if you assist the daughter.
