Todd Akin would dearly love to be able to give a tax cut to taxpayers:
“The economy needs, and taxpayers deserve a pro-growth tax cut that can help a faltering economy,” said Akin.
What a generous guy, right? Tax cuts for taxpayers are always a good sell with voters, especially in an economy like the one we're in currently. Give the taxpayers some extra spending money, stimulate the economy and get Main Street humming again. What's not to love?
Except... I became rather confused after reading this, wherein Rep. Akin calls tax cuts for workers "insane." His word, not mine, friend.
Rep. Todd Akin, a St. Louis Tea Party Republican running for U.S. Senate, said one of Obama’s jobs bill’s signature proposals, cutting payroll taxes on nearly every worker, is “about as insane as his other policies.”
I had to stop and gather my thoughts for a bit because it just doesn't add up (like lots of things for Republicans these days). Akin supports tax cuts for taxpayers so they can help our faltering economy, but no tax cuts for workers. Are you as confused as I am?
