some new stuff

Well, dear readers.... the republicans know there are DEMOCRATS in Stone County Missouri...yep, right in the heart of the rethug district. And we are using 'force' tactics... not fist fights, but being visible...like we MARCHED in the Branson Veteran's Parade...got a few cat-calls--but received more thumbs up and applause...so we decided to take our 6 foot banner (STONE COUNTY DEMOCRATS) and march in the Kimberling City Christmas Parade.... got a good reception there too...but it could have been cause we threw about 20 pounds of candy along the way.... made a big hit with the kiddies....but they are gona grow up and vote so we can never start smoozing them too soon. I have stepped back and have Jim Huy as President of the Democrat Club now and he is doing a good job and our attendance continues to grow... Also, Gary Paxton is County Chair of the Cent. Comm...and he is also enthusiastic and comes up with some good ideas that push the boundries...the wives are also working and making a difference and I am proud and content to play second fiddle. New blood and new ideas makes for a sound and interesting Democratic Party....I cannot praise these people enough...but I do realize how lucky we are to have them...

Great Job!

It sounds like you are doing a great job. Hope to hear more. Cyndi

Stone County Democratic Club

The Stone County Democratic Club will meet on Monday, March 6th and will hold a county wide NON-PARTISAN city candidate forum entitled, " Candidates Speak Out" City elections are not represented as Democrat or Republican.... they are NON_PARTISAN and no one ever hears what the city candidates are saying... so to fill a void and to get the name of the club out... we are sponsoring the Candidates Speak Out Forum to be held in the community center annex to City Hall at 34 Kimbeling Boulevard on Monday, March 6, 2006 beginning at 6:00 p.m.. We don't know if this will fly...but we are gona try and it should be publicity enough to entice a few more members into the club. I will fill you in after the 6th..... Oh... and usually when candidates run non-partisan... DEMOCRATS are elected to office. I was !

STANDING ROOM ONLY

Well, Stone Co. Dems had their club meeting on Medicare Rx "D" and we had standing room only.... We had over 80 people who attended...and our local Pharmacist, Rudy Johnson gave a great program.... Another mess the republicans have got us into.... And all that government program means it to "sell us another insurance policy" which we could have bought ourselves.... and it is written to be a windfall of profits for the Pharmacutical companies and the insurance companies.... Still lots of confusion out there and lots of anger.... GOPers are never for peole programs...they are there for the busines interests not the people's interest.... will voters never learn ? The Stone County Democratic Club is sponsoring a "Medicare RX" program with local Pharmacist Rudy Johnson who will have a question and answer session after a brief run-down of the Rx'D' program. This program is open to all people...and we have even invited our republican senators and representatives on the federal and local level to attend... so far Senator Bond said he would not attend... You would think that after being elected it would be the lawmakers duty to listen to and represent all people in his/her district... but republicans must not do that! The program will be held at Schooner Bay Community Center located in Kimberling City off highway 13... at 7:00 p.m. on December 6. Refreshments will be served and club members who are attending -- PLEASE bring finger food. Tea and Coffee will also be served. Two New State Rep District Committees Set Up

Al Warzecha and Betty Kowalewich of Stone County DCC have sset up two new State Rep District Committees. The 62nd State Rep District which covers the southern halves of Stone and Taney counties and includes Branson and Kimberling City elected David Rust (417-334-3681) as Chairperson, Cathy Hillard, Secretary and Fred Pfister, Treasurer (all of Taney Co) and Betty Kowalewich of Stone Co as Vice Chair. Next, Warzecha and Kowalewich and in cooperation with Christian County Democrats of the 141st State Rep. District, set up that committee with Pam Cox( 417-725-5341) of Ozark as Chairperson, Bob Rubino,Nixa as Vice Chair, Susan Robino as Treasurer (Nixa) and Betty Kowalewich as Secretary. Now, people... these two committees are looking for a few good candidates to run for State Representatives in 2006. If you have ever wanted to run for office...this is the right time cause the Republican White House is under considerable pressure right now...cause people are beginning to wake before every shred of Democracy is destroyed... that feeling of distruct will trickle down all the way to the state and county level... let's take advantage of their situation...the rethugs have certainly taken advantage of us... Lets have some good candidates get in touch with those chairs and get our ducks in a row and come out fighting mad for a change....lets win an election... the state will be the better for it ! Stone County Democratic Club:

The newly organized Stone County Democratic Club will meet: Tuesday, November 1st, 2005 Table Rock Cafe (1 1/2 mile north of Kimberling City/ hwy 13) Social Hour Hour 5:30 p.m. Dine : 6:00 p.m. Meeting begins promptly at 7:00 p.m. Program: "WHY ARE YOU A DEMOCRAT?" by Willie Wolff Betty Kowalewich, President bettyj@interlinc.net

Newly Organized Democratic Club

Betty Kowalewich Stone County now has a newly organized Democratic Club... one where Males and Females may join. Up until now, the WDC by-laws state that males can be associate members and cannot vote...however, Stone County Dems dissolved the WDC and now we have a working Club that meets once a month...men can hold office and head committees... and that is only fitting since the Democratic Party is the party that has fought for and stood for equality. WDC was created in the 1930's when women were just beginning to vote...it was a good thing then... but this is the 21st century, we have been to the moon but not in a Model "T" Ford... Hopefully the updating and streamlining of the Stone County Dems will result in more enthusiam, more attendance and more willing workers. We have a rough election coming up...2006 is the year we will need to elect new State Senators/state reps/ and new congressmen and women...cause our country has been brought to its knees and not for one of the Ashcroft prayer meetin's....we are down..but not out ! not yet anyway....
