Demo Establishments in Branson??

My husband and I will be visiting Branson and would love to spend our hard earned Yellow Dog dollars in a Democratic hotel or B&B rather than to find that we are enriching Republicans.  Can anyone guide us to some nice, pleasant hotels or B&Bs that are owned by Democrats?  OkieKatS@aol.com  Thanks!!

Demo Establishments in Branson

Off hand I do not know of any Branson lodging that belongs to a Democrat.  There is a good Democrat in the restaurant at the Engler Block,  the Presidential Museum and I understand the Veterans Museum belongs to a good Democrat family.

Funny thing about Branson and its City fathers.  In the past they have wined and dined anyone that would drink with them and listened to their wants and then ran back home and voted straight Republican.  I have sent several letters in the past to to Ex-governor Holden, suggesting that he not listen to the begging and whining of the Bransonites, because they would not under any circumstances vote for him.  He didn't listen and they voted straight Republican.  Maybe someday they will learn when Branson wants money and favors they will go home empty handed.  The Chamber of Commerce operates the License Office here, which is a huge cash cow.  It has to take in amounts in the hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Chamber.  I only hope when Jay Nixon gets in the Governors Office the Chamber will go out of the license business.  One good turn certainly deserves another!

We are alive and well...

Hey friends, we Democrats in Taney County are alive and well.  Perhaps after the failures of the Bush Administration and the stupidy of the Blunt Administration, some of the Republicans can find their way to cross over to the Democrat side of the ballot this next election.  I have the good feeling we are going to have some good wins in the next election.

Taney County Democrats

Just wanted to give you an update on the happenings in Taney County! In March we had a fundraiser for our next Governor Jay Nixon and I want to thank everyone for their support and the great turnout--it was a huge success! We also have been holding garage sale fundraisers of which proceeds will be used to help grow our two organizations and help fund our local candidates' elections. There will be a new election in Rockaway Beach on May 15th due to error--this is a problem in Taney County so if you can volunteer as an election judge (paid position) or as a challenger for the up-coming 2008 elections--we need you! Because of multiple request, we are also putting together a "guide" of Democrat owned businesses in the area. So if you are a Dem-owned business please contact me at 417-527-0655. Also, look for our annual watermelon picnic in late June or Early July and our next meeting will be a joint meeting with the Stone County Democrats on June 12 at 5:30 pm (location TBA). Our regular meetings are the 1st Wednesday of the month for the Club and the Central Committee meets quarterly. Cathy Hilliard Chair, Taney County Democratic Central Committee

Stay in Rockaway Beach

Play in Branson if you wish then get out of the hullaballo and stay in quiet Rockaway Beach. North on 65 to F hwy, right on 160 and immediate right on 176 straight into a storybook town. Branson Lakes Family Resort is probably the cleanest in the county. Eden Rock has new owner's who have worked hard to spruce up inside and out. Dems own Rockaway Inn. Our new mayor owns Rainbow Haven Resort and Boat Dock. The Pizza Cellar is famous throughout Missouri for Pizza and Lasagna, The Beach House serves breakfast all day as well the lunch and dinner specials. The Mini Mart has any last minuet items you need as well as cabins on the lake and R.V. hookups. Play Texas hold-em at the Upper Deck, have a drink at the Dockside Pub or the Hide Away bar. Vist our new library and museum or Capt'n Rags Snake emporium. Hope you enjoy your visit. Crylady
