We all know how important this election year is for Democrats. At the national level, we need to hold congress and take the White House. In Missouri, we need only a handful of seats to take control of the General Assembly. You probably know of important races in which victory will take us a step closer to a better world.

Democratic "Party-in-the-Park"

The Cape Girardeau Area Democratic Meetup group is hosting an area-wide outing for all area democrats, members of democrat clubs, committees and so forth. The purpose of the event is to promote unity and progress within our Democratic Party. The event is Saturday, August 20th at Cape Girardeau County Park North (at I-55 and Kingshighway), Shelter #3 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We will be frying fish and grilling out hot dogs and hamburgers. The cost of the event is only $2.00 per person and a dish. Those with last names A-M are asked to bring a cold salad or side dish and those with last names N-Z are asked to bring a dessert to share. Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Children are welcome and get in free.  Story Continued »
