Future Presidents?
Submitted by IreneMolloy on Mon, 06/25/2007 - 12:54pm.Bill McClellan today had a semi-amusing column about who will be the next presidential candidate from Missouri. It mentions Jay Nixon, Claire McCaskill, and Robin Carnahan on the Dem side. Matt Blunt, Chris Koster (???), and Catherine Hanaway on the Repub side.
McClellan isn't the only one who has mentioned McCaskill or Carnahan and "president" in the same sentence. The Huffington Post has an article from Friday about McCaskill which likens her to Missouri's favorite son and only president Harry Truman.
And, Fired Up! readers will remember that USA Today and the Kansas City Star have both mentioned SOS Robin Carnahan as a rising star with presidential potential. Story Continued »

Claire Voting with Bond??
Submitted by J. Carter on Fri, 04/13/2007 - 11:28am.A much ballyhood new GOP website (which promised to be something more than one guy posting, but like the rest of the GOP fails to deliver) recently posted an analysis of Claire McCaskill's voting record thus far. They wanted to tell us that she votes with the progressive wing of the Democratic party. I for one appreciate the public service. But it does make me wonder. .. . . .
What in the hell is she doing voting with Kit Bond more than half the time????!!!!!
When will Congress stand up for Pfc. LaVena Johnson?
Submitted by Waveflux on Wed, 04/11/2007 - 12:14pm.From yesterday's Associated Press article on a U.S. House committee's quest for honest answers for two military families:
"After successive failed Department of Defense and Army inquiries, only a comprehensive, unrelenting congressional investigation can do justice to Pat's memory, and restore service members' confidence in their chain of command," said Rep. Mike Honda, a Democrat who represents the Tillman family's San Jose district. "I will not rest until the unvarnished truth - no matter where it leads - is brought to light."
If only Mike Honda represented the Florissant, MO family of Pfc. LaVena Johnson.

We Won - Get Over It
Submitted by bboldt2 on Fri, 11/10/2006 - 6:07pm.for the hills. Just as my last ’04 post-presidential election
postmortem (concerning what a complete fraud John Kerry was) cost me a
couple of friendships, so too these parting shots will probably
alienate me from the few friends I have left among the progressive
Democratic community.
As some of you may know, I have spent most of the month of October
working on behalf of the Claire McCaskill’s US Senate campaign.
Congratulations to Claire - she worked hard and deserved her win. I Story Continued »
