In Missouri, we need only a handful of seats to take control of the General Assembly. You probably know of important races in which victory will take us a step closer to a better world.

The University of Missouri-Columbia College Democrats will be hosting a candidate forum in 114 Arts and Science on April 20th at 6 pm.  Area legislators and candidates are invited to make remarks.  Refreshments are tentatively planned and student newspapers and local media will be invited to attend.  The event is free and open to the public.  Come kick off the election season with the College Democrats!!!

It’s that time again … Time to discuss politics over drinks. Drinking Liberally will be meeting for a second time this Wednesday, November 2 for our Election 2006 pre-party. Since our last outing Tom Delay has turned himself in to the authorities, Harriet Miers has withdrew her nomination and Scooter Libby has been charged with lying and obstruction of justice. We will again be meeting at Addison’s an American Grill; 709 Cherry St. Be sure to bring friends. The more, the more liberal. Topics for consideration and conversation: the ethically challenged Karl Rove and Dick Cheney’s involvement in the CIA leak, Nixon leading Blunt in 2008, and McCaskill v. Talent. Drinking Liberally is an informal, inclusive Democratic drinking club. Raise your spirits while you raise your glass, and share ideas while you share a pitcher. Drinking Liberally gives like-minded, left-leaning individuals a place to talk politics. You don't need to be a policy expert and this isn't a book club - just come and learn from peers, trade jokes, vent frustration and hang out in an environment where it's not taboo to talk politics.
