The Long Wait for Transparency on Blunt's PSC Appointment

News yesterday from the Governor's office was that Public Service Commission member Steve Gaw would finally be replaced with an appointee of Matt Blunt's choosing.  Blunt picked his former counsel Terry Jarrett to fill Gaw's spot on the Commission, serving a term scheduled to end in 2013.

The governor has yet to release the 111-question survey that I'm sure Jarrett was required to complete as a part of his application process.  Similarly, the Blunt administration has yet to make public notes or transcripts from any interviews conducted by Blunt or his staff with Mr. Jarrett regarding the PSC job, or to release the nature of the questions asked or the names of those who suggested questions.

While the governor prepares to provide all this information to the public and media (I'm sure he will; otherwise all his hollering about "openness" and "transparency" during the judicial selection process will have been just empty posturing) he should go ahead and answer a few other questions...

Has Jarrett met with Andy Blunt at any time?  With any other industry lobbyists?  Will he release all contacts with any utility lobbyist that he had while serving in the Governor's office?

You said you wanted transparency in the appointment process, Mr. Blunt.  Now's the time to prove you meant it.
