Let's Play "Name That 'Low-Level' Blunt Staffer"

As we mentioned yesterday, a Blunt staffer was responsible for sending a copy of the governor's "War on Christmas" memo to the conservative Powerline Blog. Since then, the KC Star's Tim Hoover went to the Blunt team in search of answers about how the internal document intended for directors of state departments wound up on the high-traffic internet site.

As Hoover notes in a KCBuzzblog post, the Blunt flacks were not very forthcoming:

Who on the governor's staff forwarded the memo to the blog and why?

According to spokeswoman Jessica Robinson, it was a "low-level staffer" who was a friend of someone connected to the blog and who didn't expect that the memo would end up on the internet.

Robinson declined to name the staffer.

"This person would rather not be identified in The Kansas City Star," she said.

Since Robinson indicated only that the person didn't want to be outed by the Star and mentioned nothing about whether he would rather not be identified by FiredUp Missouri, it seems appropriate that the staffer be named here.

The leaker of the Blunt "War on Christmas" memo was one Jonathan Bunch, a "speechwriter and policy advisor" to Gov. Matt Blunt. Or, perhaps more accurately, "former speechwriter and current low-level staffer, Jonathan Bunch."

Could it be?

Satan?
